Lambeth Academy at Pop Brixton

Pop Brixton was home to fourteen budding Brixton entrepreneurs last week. The 15 year old students from Lambeth Academy were on their work experience week. They were put through their paces through a series of team challenges, masterclasses and work placements organised by Raw Talent and Spiral Skills.

A highlight was the Wednesday selling challenge. Students were briefed by Scott Leonard, Founder and Creative Director of  The Champion Agency on their people’s photobook Great Brixton

With some great ideas from about how to break the ice and talk to people about Brixton, the boys turned out to be ace salesmen and managed to shift all of their stock – even running back to the Brixton £ shop for more supplies! Number one salesman Jaydon Abrahams proudly shows off their takings.

The big message at the end of the programme was “we want more please”.

In this short video (2.38 mins) Teion Brooks sums up the benefits to young people like him and eloquently makes the case for more opportunities for young people to learn about work and the outside world.
